Dr. Tom Dayton

DVM – Veterinarian

Born and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Dayton received his doctorate at Oklahoma State University. He practiced both large and small animal medicine for 4 years in Oklahoma before moving to Houston in 1981, where he opened Houston Veterinary Hospital. His areas of special interest include diagnostic medicine, laparoscopic surgery and orthopedic surgery. He and his wife enjoy traveling, boating and spending time with his daughter’s and son’s families, including 4 adorable grandsons and 1 granddaughter. He also enjoys time with his furry kid, 1 Shih Tzu, Thumbelina.

Dr. Amanda Fiser

DVM – Veterinarian

​​​​​​​Dr. Amanda Fiser was born in Tyler, Texas but moved to Atlanta, Georgia when she was 12. She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts and completed her clinical year at Auburn University in Alabama. While at Auburn, she met her husband in the emergency room at the local hospital. After graduating from vet school she moved to Houston and has worked at several different animal hospitals. She currently lives in Houston with her husband, a cat named Evander, and a Terrier mix named Scarlett. Her dog, Saba, and her cat, Wyatt, are waiting for her at the rainbow bridge.

Brittany Martucci

Practice Manager

Brittany Martucci was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated with her Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Houston. Her background has been in the audit industry working at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and then specialized as an accounting business consultant before joining the Houston Veterinary Hospital family. She is working towards her CPA and hopes to finish at the end of next year. She has a rambunctious Golden Retriever, Annie, who loves to play fetch and be the center of attention!

Susana Rodriguez

Head Technician

Susana started with HVH back in 2007 when it was still known as Parker Road Animal Hospital, right after completing an internship with another Houston veterinary clinic during her senior year of high school. It is very clear that Susana developed her love for veterinary medicine early on and made a personal commitment to see it through. Susana is specially loved because of her loyalty to her clients and patients. Susana has adopted many pets since she started. She now has Blue, a 9-year-old Boston Terrier who loves to play; Soliel, a 5 year Boston Terrier who loves to chase squirrels; Noel, a 13-year-old Shih Tzu with a lot of medical issues; Jasmine, a 2-year-old bunny who turned out to be a boy; 1 Tree Frog, and 9 Axolotls. In 2009, Susana had her beautiful baby girl, Giselle, who will be 7 years old in December. Giselle loves to take up her mother’s time by doing gymnastics competitively.

Melanie Salazar

Head Technician

Melanie graduated from the Vet Tech Institute in 2014. She is in the process of taking her tests to be a licensed veterinary technician. She is enthusiastic about all animals except for SPIDERS! She doesn’t play around with spiders big or small. She has 1 dog that she has had since she was 15 years old and 1 cat that she adopted from school. Her plan for the future is to continue her education and specialize in animal dentistry.

Susan Bell

Veterinary Technician

​​​​​​​Originally from West Virginia. Susan is a graduate of Vet Tech Institute of Houston and a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She has worked at Houston Veterinary Hospital since 2013. Susan treats every patient as if they are her own and goes to every extent to ensure they have the most comfortable experience possible. When not at work she makes her home in Baytown, TX with her college sweetheart/husband and her fur babies Elvis and Peanut Butter the Cat.

Elizabeth Ramirez

Veterinary Technician

Elizabeth, a Houston native, is a veterinary assistant. She studied at PIMA Medical Institute. Elizabeth got married in 2015. She has a little girl named Jocelynn who also shows interest in loving animals as much as Elizabeth does. After Elizabeth was working with us for about a year, she rescued a poodle-mix named Cookie. Cookie is a very friendly and energetic dog. She has made a great addition to Elizabeth’s family.

Patricia Rocha

Veterinary Technician

Patricia Rocha studied at PIMA Medical Institute. She did her externship here at Houston Veterinary Hospital and got hired! After a couple of months of working with us, she rescued a cat, Ed, and a dog, Bear. She is planning on furthering her education and studying Zoology.

Tony Miller

Veterinary Technician

Tony Miller began working as a veterinary assistant with Houston Veterinary Hospital in April of 2011 while working on undergraduate coursework at the University of Houston to apply to vet school. He completed his undergraduate work and was accepted by the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. He is a member of the class of 2020 and during his limited time away from school can be found here, applying the skills he has learned.

Liz Torres

Head Receptionist

Liz Torres has been a receptionist at Houston Veterinary Hospital for about 4 years. She has two pets, Tigra, a 6-year-old cat, and Trixie, a 4-year-old mix. Liz is also a mother to a 2-year-old daughter named Evelyn.

Genesis Rodriguez


Genisis started with Houston Veterinary Hospital in the summer of 2013. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated high school in June of 2016 and is planning on going to college in the near future. She recently adopted a Pitbull named Razor.

Adriana Trillo


Adriana was born in Peru where she received her degree in veterinary medicine and zoology from Alas Peruanas University in 2010. In 2013, Adriana moved to Houston, TX and started with Houston Veterinary Hospital as a groomer. In her free time Adriana loves photography. She also loves spending time outside in nature with her husband, Giancarlo, and her recently adopted Shih Tzu, Bentley.

Xavier “X”

Blood Donor & Guard Dog

Xavier, a Bull Mastiff, is 8 years old and joined Houston Veterinary Hospital in June 2008. He came in at two months old with parvo virus. He was trained to be a blood donor after his recovery. He has been holding down the hospital since then. He is a cuddly teddy bear who believes he is a small dog that can fit in your lap!
